We have been asked numerous times for a device that can be used for indoor tracking to locate items where even the best GPS will not work - such as in a warehouse or basement. This version of the GLOBAL-Y uses a unique wifi positioning system (WPS), or WiFi sniffer, to scan for WiFi access points and the signal strength from each one. This information is then used to triangulate a position which is typically accurate to 100 feet / 30m in metropolitan areas. And this can all be done in typically less than 3 seconds, using a lot less power than a typical GPS fix.

This wifi positioning system, combined with the new low power capabilities of the LTE-CATM1 module allows us to shrink the design size down even smaller and use smaller AAA batteries

Tiny Form Factor
The GLOBAL-Y measures just 85 x 63 x 24 mm! Enclosed in the housing is the Wi-Fi module, 4G Cat-M1/Nb-IoT modem, cellular antenna and a 3 x AAA battery holder.

The tiny size means it can be attached to any number of assets such as:

• Pallets, beer kegs, bikes, animals, livestock and parcels.
• Conceal it in trailer lights, hide it in bags, the possibilities are endless!
